SAY what you have noticed, ASK about suicide & DO something supportive, or find someone else to help.

  • Asking won’t make it worse - instead it provides relief, acknowledgement and validation.

  • You don’t need to have any answers - the person just wants to feel heard, understood and less alone.

  • Just notice, show up, ask, listen, validate and call for professional help in an emergency.

  • Don’t wait for someone else to respond. If we all assume someone else will help, no one does anything, leaving the person at risk alone.

  • Plan your first step now: a phone call or text to check in with someone. Set a reminder in your phone now.
